pods turn brown and hard. Don’t wait too long, though, or you might lose them to nature — birds and other animals might eat them or they could pop open and disperse on their own.
For seeds that are embedded in wet, jellylike flesh, a bit more work is required.
Vegetables like tomatoes and cucumbers have seeds that can be saved well, but they need to.be fermented first.
I know it sounds lovely (and it doesn’t smell much better), but doing so will increase the viability of the saved seeds.
