Native of Slate Mills

Mildred Thomas Hawkins, 85, of Culpeper died Thursday, October 11, at Culpeper Regional Hospital.

She was bom oh February 13, 1922 in Slate Mills, Va., to the late Thomas William McFarland and Cora Lee Burke McFarland. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of Five Forks Regular Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sister, Delsie P. McFarland Hawkins of Culpeper, a step-daughter, Bessie Norman of Woodville and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Milton M. Hawkins and three brothers, Daniel Lee, James William and Thomas Albert McFarland.

Funeral services were held on Monday, October 15, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel in Culpeper, with Rev. Roger Smith officiating. Interment was followed at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers were George Hawkins, Larry Hawkins, Randy Rudd, Billy Mills, Mike Mills, Curtis Hawkins, and Dennis Horton.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Hawkins name to a charity of choice.
