Freshman Connor Settle received the kickoff at his own 14-yard line then went untouched up the middle for an 86-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
The Panthers came to life following the kickoff After forcing an Eagles punt, the Panthers put together a fourpiay 55-yard touchdown drive. On the first play, Settle broke free for a 19-yand run. down to the Clarke County 36-yard line. Two pass plays from Butler to Dean Hogan moved the ball to the two-yard line. From there, Butler pushed through the middle of the Eagles defense for a two-yard touchdown run and Settle added a two-point conversion run to make it 26-14 with 1:04 remaining.
The Panthers attempted an onside kick, but failed to convert, leaving the Eagles to run out the clock.
The Panthers finished with 120 yards of total offense, 103 of which came through the air. Meanwhile, the Eagles controlled the contest with a powerrunning game that netted 213 yards.
Sam Shiley led the Eagles with 131 rushing yards on 12 carries, while his brother Sach ran for 50 yards and threw for 69.
The Panthers were led by Butler who completed nine-of-17 passes for 88 yards. Hogan caught three passes for 49 yards.
