“Many people in our jails are incarcerated for little to nothing and not given an opportunity to pay back the community. Where is the restitution in that?” she asked.

Roles says the commonwealth’s $640 billion budget shortfall, which is forecast for next year, is a sign of irresponsible government. Members of the General Assembly have to make a decision: either raise taxes or cut spending, she says.
“We need responsible government,” she said. “If it’s teen needlessly spent, why haven’t the members of the General Assembly cut spending?”
