Many see the upcoming hunting season as an impending problem for forest officials and firefighters. But Duncan believes that hunters will help officials in the fight, against forest fires, more than they will hinder the state’s efforts.
“I like the fact that we have 200,000 hunters with cell phones out in the woods,” Duncan said. “Hunters don’t want to hurt the land that they hunt on. They want to preserve their land and I think they’ll do everything they can to prevent forest fires.”
