you can’t fathom eating soup out of a pumpkin shefl, yon could always serve soup from a pumpkin shell — just use a large hollowed-out pumpkin like a soup tureen.
Even smaller pumpkins can be hollowed out and used for serving witches brew at your Halloween party or cider at your Harvest festival
You can decorate your party table with eerie candles made by using pumpkin shells as molds. Scoop out the pulp from tiie pumpkin, set a wick by poking a small hole in the bottom and pulling the string through and use a small amount of melted wax to seal up the hole. Then pour melted wax into the shell and let it harden. You may need to pour more wax in as a well forms during the cooling process. When the wax is set cut the pumpkin away from the candle. You will have a uniquely shaped candle with a pumpkin patina around the outer wax.
After Halloween and fall is over you will find you have some lingering pumpkins decaying around your house and front stoop. They will look very sad indeed, but there is more fun to be had and this is the perfect time for it In fact I think my kids like this part better than the decorating, partying and pigging out! It’s a good of fashioned pi inkin’ chunkin’ We *ak» our squished squash out to the woods and see who can chuck their pumpkin the farthest It’s also fon to see who can make the most mess, break theirs into the most pieces or make the loudest noise when pumpkin hits terra firm It’s a great way to clear out the harvest decay from around the house, let out some aggressions and give back to Mother Nature!
