Previously, Chappell’s enrollment projections had been off by no more than 2.22 percent.
Chappell noted that enrollment projections for Rappahannock County public schools made by state officials were also unusually inaccurate thin year. Those projections overestimated enrollment in Rappahannock schools by 8.54 percent.
Enrollment at Rappahannock high school and elementary school dropped from a total of 1,002 students in the 2006-2007 school year to 943 students this year.
