Democratic candidate fot the US Senate Andrew P. Miller told The Rappahannock News last Thursday that .( we’re able to reduce inflation substantially during the next six years, that would be a major contribution to "domestic tranquility."
Miller, former Virginia attorney general, was asked during an hour-long interview what he thought his most important role as a senator could be.
Miller noted with a sense of frustration that “we simply do not have a handle on the conduct of our domestic affairs. It’s like a roller coaster which has gotten out of control.”
He said a great deal of hard work and determination are needed to control inflation, "and that’s the kind of leadership that I would like to provide in the United States Senate.” Miller emphasized that he is opposed to regulating prices as a means of putting a brake on inflation, and that he feels that “in the long run the lowest price for energy is going to result when you have competition amongst companies, and different types of ftiel. “When you try to impose controls, what those controls
