Miller asked Luke, who also serves as Chairman of the Supervisors, to take the controversial final sections to the Supervisors for their ideas since the Board will eventually have to approve any comprehensive plan for the county. “We don’t want to work hard on it and not have it be what they had in mind,” he said, recalling that Supervisors in Madison and Orange Counties had drastically revised comprehensive plans forwarded by their Planning Commissions.
As far as encouraging public participation in the planning process. Miller said he favored holding community meetings in different areas of the county with progress discussed "completely and openly” in the paper. He noted that this method had worked successfully during development of the county's zoning and subdivision ordinances.
Masterson asked if members of the Board of Supervisors had attended those past community hearings and was told that the representatives for the Flint Hill and Sperryville areas had.
