Ruth Blackwell, District Court Clerk for Rappahannock, attended the fall conference for Virginia District Court Clerks held in Charlottesville last weekend, October 20 and 21.
Miss Blackwell participated in workshop groups on civil procedure, bureau of support enforcement-juvenile forms review, introduction to criminal law and forms management.

Washington attorney David L. Konick was recently admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court in Washington, D. C. by order of C. Moxley Featherston, Chief Judge. United States Tax Court has jurisdiction over cases in which the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service
issues a| notice of deficiency in income, gift or estate taxes and the taxpayer wishes to contest the alleged deficiency prior to payment of the tax. Taxpayers have the option of paying the tax upon receipt of the Commissioner’s notice of deficiency and suing for a refund in the U. S. Court of Claims. Mr. Konick has maintained offices in Washington, Virginia since 1977, and specializes in the fields of taxation, business and estate planning.
