Miller says we should index taxes instead But this is not a tax cut When adopted alone, this approach will only freeze taxes at their currently outrageously high level and admits that inflation is a way of life we must accept and live with forever And that's not what Virginians want 2. A Bigger Bureaucracy Spending More Tax Dollars
Andrew Miller wants to create a new federal bureaucracy a Department of Education And he says the federal government should take over one third of the cost of all public elementary and secondary education What he doesn't tell you is that this program alone would cost the taxpayers as much as $40 billion more

Henry Howell would be Governor today and Elmo Zumwalt would be a Senator Many conservative Democrats refused to support their party's liberals — but not Miller' 5. Increase Taxes — Cut Back Energy When Jimmy Carter proposed heavy new taxes on the use of energy, Andrew Miller said he supported the plan and that we need people in Washington to help him get it through (Ledger Star, 4-22-77, Virginia Mountaineer, 3-2-78) Those taxes would cost the American people over $70 billion by 1985! Heavy taxes will slow down our energy production — but they will also slow down economic growth When economic growth stops the American dream will crumble — without economic growth there will be no new jobs Without economic growth, unemployment will soar
