Due to the current water shortage. Mayor Newbill Miller is requesting that all residents of the Town of Washington do their part in the conservation 6f the Town’s water supply. Citizens are asked not to wash cars or use excessive amounts of water.

Payments to foster parents for room and board and clothing will increase as of November 1, 1978,

Social Services Director Mrs. Elizabeth Buntin told the Rappahannock Welfare Board on Friday that the State Welfare Department had adopted a new rate schedule for room and board, requiring a corresponding ten percent increase in local rates.

Under the new schedule, payments will be upped from $80 to $88 per month for foster children under four years of age; from $90 to $99 for children between five and 12 years and from $100 to $110 for children 13 years and over.

Previously, the county paid its foster parents a clothing allowance of $17 per month for children under four years old, $23 per month for children between five and 12 years and $2’’ for children between 13 years and older As clothing payments here will fall below the new
