Whorton
Raymond Shelver Whorton, 77, a retired employee of the Town of Culpeper died at his residence recently.
He was born in Rappahannock County August 20, 1901. He was the son of the late Sam and Julia Hitt Whorton.
Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Addie Keyser of Washington, Mrs. Mattie Butler and Mrs. Ollie Dodson, both of Culpeper, Mrs. Neva Alter of Castleton, and Mrs. Minnie Fincham of Orange, and two brothers, Earl Whorton of Boston and Melvin Whorton of Culpeper. Graveside funeral services were conducted Oct. 25 at Hill Crest Memorial Gajden, Jeffersonton, by the (Rev. Edward Hawkins. I Clore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
