More than 100,000 Virginia homeowners will receive free home energy computer analyses to help cut their heating bills this winter as part of a cooperative program by the Office of Fmergency and Energy Services and Virginia Tech.
The Energy Division has installed three toll-free Energy Hot Lines (1-800-552.1831) to handle requests. Computer questionnaires can also be obtained from Tech Extension agents.
"We have nicknamed the computer ‘Honest Sam' because it takes the guesswork out of making energy saving improvements. The computer recommends the steps that’ll save money and very frankly advises against the ones that won't," George L. Jones. Coordinator. Office of Emergency and Energy Services said.
