The State of Maryland Water Resources Administration has been awarded a grant to investigate Water Quality problems in the Chester River
The State of Maryland will Evaluate existing management programs lor the Chester River Basin, andevaluateexisting water quality management tools and techniques The future needs for water quality data will be defined, as well as improved monitoring and management tools A grant has also been awarded to the WRA for similar work in the Patuxent and Potomac Rivers
Virginia Watershed Study
The Occuquon. Ware River and Poquoson River water sheds will be studied by the Virginia State Water Control Board. An intensive look into the management of these watersheds will be conducted Virginia has been underfire by a number of environmental groups for their failure to properly manage the Oc cuquon Water shed These studies will compile all the existing useful data, determine new information requirements and develop programs to fill the in formation gaps The data acquired will be studied to determine the best management tools and water quality management strategies for each of these water sheds
