Accordingly, VMRC has prepared an interim report on their efforts and a report on the probable workload impact on localities that might result from the CRM shoreline permitting proposals. SHORELINE EROSION - Under contract with the Coastal Resources Management Program, the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Department of Agricultural Economics) and the Middle Peninsula Planning 1 District Commission are conducting an extensive study of how the shoreline erosion problem can be addressed as part of coastal resources management. The, purpose of the study is to examine the problems and solutions to shoreline erosion so local governments and private citizens may consider all the relevant facts when deciding how best to cope with the problem.
