photographs, jump in place, tell full name, copy a circle, use short sentences and turn pages in a book. Between three and four years, a child should name three colors-, balance on one foot briefly, snip with scissors, listen to a short story and put away toys. Between four and five years, a child should be able to draw and trace on paper, hop on one foot, tell a familiar story, copy a triangle, share and take turns and match shapes.

If parents suspect that their child may be behind in his or her development, they can help by starting the child's education early with help from the child development specialist.
