“We spent a lot of man hours, nonstop, with people pulling double and triple shifts, to get this case solved,” said Settle. “Deputy Connie Compton did a tremendous job, exerted a lot of effort and demonstrated her professionalism in the handling of this case. Her initial steps in executing the protocol we’ve set up helped get the case moving expeditiously. She made a lot of good decisions from the get go.”
Settle also acknowledged the help and assistance of the Culpeper Sheriffs Office in the matter.
John Ferdetta, of the RAA, said that organization’s board met last week to hear reports from the sheriff and to decide how to proceed.
