Miss Sue Haggerty of Sperryville participated in a one hundred mile trail ride in Woodstock, Vt. recently and placed fourth in the lightweight division.
Farmers were reminded today of a very important part of the election process for Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation community committeemen, especially where ballots are mailed in to the ASCS county office.
The Rappahannock County Firemen’s Association will hold an election of officers for the coming year when it meets Friday, Sept. 15 at the Chester Gap fire hall.
The semi-annual rummage sale conducted by the ladies auxiliary for the benefit of the Washington Fire Company and Rappahannock Rescue is in operation each Thursday and Friday in September from 9 to 5 p.m. in the basement of the Post Office building in Washington, Va.

Aubrey H. Keyser, Rappahannock County farmer, was elected general chairman of the McGovern campaign committee for the county at an organizational meeting Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Harris at Huntly.
Congressman J. Kenneth Robinson, Congressman William L. Scott, the Fredericksburg Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Richmond Office of the U.S. Department of Commerce have jointly announced plans for a Business Development Conference to be held at the Sheraton Motor Inn in Fredericksburg on Thursday, Sept. 28.

The ninth annual Madison County Horse Show, sponsored by the Madison 4-H Horse and Pony Club, will be held this year on Oct. 14 and 15 at the Young Farmers Show Grounds, two miles south of the Town of Madison.
