Public Education Network, will talk about other local education foundations nationwide; and Glen Burdick, superintendent of Winchester city schools will give details about the Handley Endownment as an example of another kind of community involvement in public education.
Through small group discussions, Headwaters hopes to learn from the audience what the citizens of the county want and how they can, in partnership with the schools, contribute to the further education of children.
After discussion and summary, fellowship and refreshments will follow the forum. The kickoff meeting will adjourn until reassembling on a continuing basis can be arranged.
The next meeting will be to develop the ideas presented.
