Back in 1990,1 had to look at the clock on my nightstand to know how many more winks of sleep I was likely to get before sunrise.
Even with my windows open on those mild earlySeptember nights, the only sound that ever threatened to cause a ripple in my consciousness was that created by the flapping wings of wild geese overhead. It made me think 0f that song “My Favorite Things” in the movie The Sound of Music. You know, “...wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings, these are a few of my favorite things...”
