This school
year best yet!
Once again the school year is underway, and teachers and students in the Rappahannock County Public Schools are working enthusiastically! Each year everyone seems to come back to school at summer’s end energized and ready to go back to work; however, I have been struck this year by the particularly positive attitude of teachers and students in both RCES and RCHS.
Good things are happening in our school system, and our community can be proud.
Naturally, in my position, I feel that a large measure of this positive spirit can be attributed to our wonderful pool of volunteers, and as is true every year, we still have many volunteer positions to fill. If you would like to tutor, help in our art or music departments, assist in the library or computer lab, please call.
We are also looking for Native Virginians who are willing to share their personal histories. Thanks to the Virginia Commission for the Arts, Artist in Residency Program, our students will get to participate in “Patterns in History.” This is sure to be a meaningful experience for our students and your special stories will only enhance that.
