Last Wednesday night, the Tbwn Council gave the nod to part one of Tbwir Planner Milton Herd’s draft proposal of preparing an updated Tbwn Comprehensive Plan.
This action was a follow-up to the Aug. 25 joint session of the Town Planning Commission and Town’s Future Committee. Members met to discuss Herd’s recommendations for strategic planning and the all-important citizens’ Steering Committee.
Many attending the town council meeting came expressly to find out which of the 30 volunteers would be approved as members of the committee.
Committee chair Ray Gooch gave a brief summary of the meeting, commending Herd’s experience and skill as a both a facilitator and planner. Herd “feels very strongly that the opportunity for planning is here. He exhibited a wonderful ability to bring people out,” said Gooch. “The general feeling was that (the planning proposal) was a fairly tight package,” and that “the survey was a part of planning for the future.” »
