Cup open timber stake is slated as the third race on the card, with the feature hurdle, the $40,000 Noel Laing handicap scheduled as the fourth. Virginia’s only graded stakes race in the fall, the Laing is a grade III event over two and a half miles of Montpelier’s natural brush fences.
