Nancy R. Rothrock, 63, widow of the late chief judge of Fairfax General District Court John A. Rothrock, died Sept. 5 from cardiac arrest following a drowning accident in Whitefish, Mont.
Mrs. Rothrock, who lived at the Rothrock farm in Amissville, was vacationing with her son at the time of the accident.
She had accompanied him fly fishing at Big Creek in the North Fork area of the Flathead River when she fell and drowned. She died two hours later at North Valley Hospital in Whitefish.
Mrs. Rothrock was well known in Fairfax City legal and social circles during her late husband’s long court service until his 1980 retirement to their farm. She traveled extensively with him, spending part of each year at their second home in Tuscon, Ariz.
Bom Nov. 12, 1933 in Binghamton, N.Y. to Sidney and Cecilia Rippon, she spent her childhood and was educated in Scranton, Pa.
