Wakefield School opened for its 26th academic year on Sept. 3 with 289 students, an increase of 88 from 1996-97.
Wakefield’s student body represents a broad cross section of the Piedmont region, with families coming from Fauquier, Prince William, Loudoun, Rappahannock, Warren, Culpeper, Clarke, Fairfax, Frederick, Jefferson (W.Va.) and Shenandoah Counties.
