A group of five artists is pooling their talent and enthusiasm to bring an artists’ row to Washington, Va.
The “brainchild” of Rappahannock artist Tanya Richey, known for her expressive, colorful paintings of county scenes, the row is set to open Sept. 27 and 28 with open house, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
There will also be an artists’ reception on Sept. 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. The reception, said Richey, is a kind of movable feast. All the shops will feature different foods and people can view the art and have dinner as they move down the street.
“It’s the beginning of a real creative energy here,” she said “and a very unique opportunity.”
