Harvest dinner The Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor a harvest dinner on Saturday, October 18, at the Flint Hill fire hall. The country ham and turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost will be $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Lions to meet The Rappahannock Lions Club will meet on Wednesday, September 24, at 7 p.m. at the Comer Post Restaurant in Flint Hill.
Humane Society Auction An auction to benefit the Rappahannock Humane Society will be held at Points of View Farm, Flint Hill, on Saturday, October 18, at 2 p.m., rain or shine. Donations of items to auction will be gratefully accepted. For donations or information call Ann Sakalaucks at 987-8140.
Fundamentals of drawing
at Middle Street Local artist Robin Purnell will offer a five-lesson course on drawing October 6 through November 3 at the Middle Street Gallery. Using objects from the natural world (i.e. shells, mushrooms, fish, plant life, etc.), participants will explore the basic techniques of executing a drawing and sharpening their powers of observation. Emphasis will also be placed on experimentation with materials. Lessons for beginners will also be offered. Classes will meet from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The fee for the course is $50 and does not include materials. Pre-registration is required. To register call Robin Purnell at 675-3081.

Parent-teacher meeting at CCLC The Child Care and Learning Center will be having a parent-teacher meeting Wednesday, September 24, at 7:30. A video tape of the children’s day to day activities will be shown followed by an informal discussion. Refreshments will be served and free babysitting will be available. Frazier family reunion The Robert Frazier family reunion will be held at the Rappahannock Park on Sunday, September 21. Friends and relatives are welcome. A special event this year will be a dessert judging contest plus the usual games and fun.
