“No wonder the old stand was shifting and crumbling,” Mr. Groat added. “The water shot up in the air for six hours as it was released. Then we found out we couldn’t move the big hunk of old concrete so we had to go back to the drawing board and revise the plans. This held up construction and added to the cost as well. I don’t see how the contractor can complete the roof and the mutuel windows and all the other amenities we will have in the new stand before race day.
