No crisis
In a telephone interview this week, Mr.- Strider emphasized that the WSA has not entered crisis mode with its septage and sludge problems. “There’s no major push right now,” he said, noting that individual septic tanks are not scheduled to be pumped out until next summer. “And they won’t really need to be pumped then.”
Mr. Strider explained that the WSA plans to have the tanks emptied on a three-year cycle, with a third pumped every year. “There won’t be much in the way of solids accumulated in the bottom of the tanks, but we’ll work into the cycle then.”
