1959 — Rappahannock County High School built for capacity of 285 students.
• 1966 — Additional rooms, shop added to increase classroom capacity to 385; no expansion of cafeteria, restrooms, library, guidance and administrative offices, storage or other base facilities.
• 1976 — Joint Supervisor-School Board committee studies space needs, finds facility overcrowded, only minimum number of academic units offered and some teachers changing rooms as often as five times daily so that classes with large enrollments can be scheduled in larger rooms. Committee makes no recommendation on expansion, claiming “too many variables involved.” * • 1979 — School Board committee proposes $686,647 capital outlay project of 15,950 square feet, including greenhouse, horticulture classroom, expanded kitchen, cafeteria, library, bathrooms, offices, storage and nine new classrooms.
