•Eligible livestock includes cattle, sheep, goats, swine, and working horses and mules owned six months or longer. Exceptions to the six months ownership may be made for offspring of eligible livestock and for purchased feeder animals to the extent that feeding purchased animals has been a normal practice at least four of the last five years.
The ASCS official pointed out that when applying, the applicant must have an accurate inventory of his livestock and all feed supplies. Applications may be filed at any time when feed supplies are found to be insufficient, but all applications must be filed no later than December 31, 1986.
