by the Arts and Crafts Project and the Flint Hill Home Demonstration Club will begin Thursday, October 6 at the home of Mrs. Mary Cleverley from 7 to 9 p.m. The five two-hour sessions of instruction will be given free of charge by Mrs. Cleverly. Beginners should bring with them size 8 knitting needles and 4 ply knitting worsted.

Mrs. Sally Mann has been

promoted to Sales Promotion Supervisor in the Marketing Department of Washington Gas Light Company. She has been employed by the Washington firm, a distributor of natural gas, for nearly eight years.

Pfc. Irvin 0. Gatewood has completed his basic training with the United States Marine Corps at Parris Inland, S.C. and has returned to Camp LeJeune, N.C. after spending a 15-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gatewood at Washington, Va. He entered the Marine Corps June 9,1971.

The staff of the Rappahannock

County High School yearbook is in needs of funds to produce another annual this year. Members of the group are going to roll up their sleeves and go to work by sponsoring a car wash and bake sale at the high school Saturday, September 18 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Capt. Howard Holschuh’s slide show, which was enjoyed in the spring, will be repeated Tuesday, September 28, under the auspices of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Flint Hill fire hall at 8 p.m. With only a few changes from the previous showing, the views of about 50 cabins, mills, bams and large homes built in the county during the 18th century will be described as before by Mrs. Helen Holschuh.
