Rappahannock girls to a first place team finish.

The Eastern Mennonite Invitational was a successful trip for individual runners — Marley Hay and Jonathan Watson placed in the top one-third of the runners. Neil Burke and Dan Herman also placed within the middle of the pack.
In the girls’ race Bonnie Grimsley and Kathy Dodson led the Rappahannock team.
Matthew Eitson was the first of the Panthers’ Junior Varsity runner to cross the finish line.
Rappahannock’s harriers found the major hill at E. M. H. S. easy in comparison to the home course near Sperryville, Coach Ann Spieker reported. She invited the public to “come out and cheer the home team when they run at home on Sept. 24 at 5 p.m.” The course is located across Rt. 211 from the Old Hollow Grocery.
