The unique feel of a steeplechase meet has also attracted sponsors to the sport. Companies have found the festive nature of the hunt meets to be perfect for entertaining business clients and attracting new customers.
“Steeplechasing has a good costbenefit ratio for companies entertaining clients,” says Dr. Rogers, joint-master of the Loudoun Hunt and chairman of the Morven Park steeplechase races.
“Businesses seem to get a high number of acceptances to their invitations and appear very satisfied with the day,” he adds. “It’s better than taking a box at a Redskin’s game where you’re confined and everyone leaves when the game is over.”
Several companies have also found steeplechase fans a perfect audience and market for their products.
