• January 1984 — School Board selects architect.
• March 1984 — $750,000 RCHS expansion and remodeling project presented to supervisors. Proposed construction includes pre-fab gym, expanded library and cafeteria, bathroom facilities, guidance offices, two science classrooms and seven additional classrooms. Change of pre-fab gym for brick and mortar construction ups total to $1,303,777.
• May 1984 — Supervisors authorize School Board to apply for Literary Loan. New figure with brick and mortar gym is $1,509,079.
• April 1985 — Preliminary drawings presented at joint meeting of School Board and supervisors.
• October 1985 — RCHS expulsion project approved for Literary Loan by State Board of Education at $1,240,263 and placed on waiting list for funding.
• May 1986 — Supervisors balk iat including expected Literary Loan qn revenue side of 1986-87 school budget, a move that will require the public hearing process on the high school expansion to be repeated. ^
