REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS COURTHOUSE RENOVATION PROJECT
RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY, VIRGINIA
The County of Rappahannock hereby solicits proposals from qualified architects or builders to develop plans and concepts for the renovation of the County Courthouse situated in Washington, Virginia. The work to be perform'ed shall be preparation of plans, specifications, and work descriptions necessary for the renovation of the Courthouse, to meet Federally mandated handicap accessibility requirements. The bidder selected shall work with the Handicap Access Committee appointed by the Board of Supervisors to develop the necessary plans, specifications, and work descriptions necessary to later advertise for bid the actual performance of the renovation.
Those wishing to submit proposals shall do so in writing by September 30, 1986. Proposals shall be mailed to P.O. Box 222, Washington, Va. 22747. The competitive negotiation procedure for professional services set forth in Chapter 7 of Title 11 of the Code of Virginia shall apply. To be acceptable a proposal must contain: 1) a statement as to the name, address and telephone number of the bidder, 2) the qualifications and experience of the bidder, 3) the cost or hourly rate proposed; and 4) be signed.
The contract negotiated with the winning bidder may include a provision for the supervision, or monitoring, of construction on the renovation. The winning bidder will be required to sign a contract with the County of Rappahannock.
