Rappahannock County High School senior Jonathan Watson, son of Holly and Diane Pendleton of Sperryville, has received an appointment to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was nominated to the Academy by Senator Paul Trible of Virginia.
The first step for Jonathan in securing a nomination was to notify his Congressional representative of his interest in attending a service academy, in this case the Air Force Academy.
After advising Sen. Trible of his interest, Jonathan wrote to the Academy and completed a pre-candidate questionnaire. This included information on his SAT scores, grades, class rank, extracurricular activities and other information.
