At noon a flat race will pit riders against each other in a three-quarter-mile race on the turf. At 12:30 the action heightens with an open timber contest over a 2'/i!-mile course.
The ladies come next, competing over a timber course of about two miles. Next comes a maiden 1%-mile race for new horses over natural cedar hurdles.
Juniors will get their hands on the reins next, competing across two-thirds of a mile of turf.
An open hurdle race will be held for a challenge trophy. A three-time winner may retire the trophy for his own shelf.
The foxhunters follow in the seventh race. About two miles of Rappahannock Hunt’s notorious terrain will be contested over timber by members of registered foxhunts. Next, owner-riders will challenge the timber course for 2'/> miles.
