A dream cure?

To the editor:

God’s Spirit, I feel, (though I could be wrong) gave me a dream showing the nation’s Public Health doctors advancing from trenches, filled hypodermic needles at the ready - like soldiers with fixed bayonets - fighting the war against AIDS.

I wrote a letter to this paper (which I do not believe was published) pointing out that Reagan’s military budget for helping the Nicaraguan Contras would be better spent if it were diverted to curing AIDS. That was a while ago, but since then I’ve been justified in my position by Reagan’s finally taking up the issue (now that it’s safely a sexually transmitted disease rather than still considered God’s plague against homosexuals) and support
