Baines, who investigated the accident, she lost control of this 1977 Datsun coupe as she turned from Main St. onto Porter St. in Washington. The car crashed into the side of Miss Ruby Jenkins’ First Washington Museum. Neither Ms. Jewell nor a passenger in the car was injured. Trooper Baines charged her with reckless driving. He estimated damage to the building at $3,000, and the car was totalled.
