From Page 9 sphere at a point-to-point is more informal. While there may be disqualifications from time to time there are no suspensions or fines.
The sanctioned races are usually referred to as steeplechases. The sanctioned races that do not place at major racetracks (Saratoga, Belmont, Arlington Park) are called “hunt meetings” by the NSHA. This leads to lots of confusion among racegoers who confuse the term with a fox hunt meet.
