Set in the 1930s during the rise of the independence struggles in India against British colonial rule, the film examines the plight of a group of widows forced into poverty at a temple in the holy city of Varanasi. Rappahannock County High School will host its annual Power Puff Football game between the senior and junior girls Friday, Oct. 20 at 5:30 p. m. on the football field. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students. Bring a lawn chair.
Oct. 20: Community Drum Circle
All are invited to join in creating rhythm and music on Friday, October 20 from 7-9 p. m. at Sage, in the Rappahannock Wellness Center. Group drumming is fun and has been proven to reduce stress. It can stimulate coordination, cooperation, and greater listening skills. All are welcome. No experience necessary. There are plenty of drums and instruments to share, or bring your own.
