However, if repainting an entire room is not feasible just make sure your mural area is smooth (i.e. free of nail holes, no chipped paint) and dean.
Draw the pattern or mark your area with colored pencils. A colored pencil that is slightly darker than the base color will ensure you see your outline, but also not leave any unsightly marks that bleed through the paint.
If you think a “Paint-byNumbers” project would work for you, try photocopying your picture onto a transparency and using a projector to place it on the wall.
Trace the
outline first.
You’ll want to paint the background first, working your way out to the foreground. Take a step back and see where you need to highlight or shade areas to give it a more realistic feel.
After you’re all done, sit down and eiyoy the view!
