Revival services will be in progress this week at Slate Mills Baptist Church with different speakers nightly. Pastor Martin and congregation invite the public.
Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Racey, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Ketchner of Winchester, left Monday for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Mason and families in Sumter, S.C., Mr. Mason being not well at this time.
The public is invited to attend the annual Harvest Festival with our neighbors at the Woodville Baptist Church on Saturday, October 28, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Heartfelt sympathy goes out to Mrs. John Hitt and family of Slate Mills Road, upon the passing of her aunt Miss Elizabeth Woodard, which occurred at Culpeper Health Care Center. Miss Woodard was a caring person and will be remembered by many as the care giver for the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Atkins in Sperry ville.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Tharp of Culpeper were Sunday guests of Miss Mary Tharp and sister Rosie on Aaron Mountain Road.
The New Salem Baptist Church, located on Route 522, will be having its Fall Festival on Saturday, October 21s, from 3 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. with hay rides, pumpkin decorations and carvings, and games. Chili and hot dogs will be served.
