John Haring, of Great Falls, Virginia, driving a 2004 Ford, pulled out onto business 211 striking David Edwards, from Leesburg, Virginia driving a 1995 BMW convertible. No one was injured in the accident.
Domestic Assault
A woman called the Sheriff’s office at midnight, October 14, saying that her boyfriend was tearing up the house and had obtained a pellet gun. Deputy Deavers and Sargent Currence responded to the scene, arresting Charles E. Caperton Jr., 41, for domestic assault and battery.
Resisting Arrest
On October 14 at 2:45 a.m., a man reported that he had heard a crash on U. S. highway 211 near his residence in Sperryville. Deputy Angela Deavers responded to the scene, finding a wrecked vehicle and a driver who appeared intoxicated. As Deavers attempted to arrest Richard Matthew Lee, 20, on a charge of driving under the influence. According to Sheriff Larry Sherertz, Lee resisted arrest, and started fighting with Deavers.
One of Lee’s relatives was present at the scene, and aided Deavers by physically forcing Lee into a position against the Deputy’s cruiser, where he could be subdued. Deavers radioed for assistance and Lieutenant Roger Jenkins joined her at the scene. Deputy Gary Jenkins and Major Christopher Williams also responded to the scene.
