Help! We’ve been invaded by lady bugs! I know they’re harmless and I »don’t mind them as long as they stay in their place, outside! As it is they’re just adding to the work load as we do some fall cleaning. The cleaning has been inspired by an upcoming visit from family from Minnesota. I’m sure a lot of us are entertaining visitors here to gawk at the beautiful Rappahannock countryside. They remind me not to take it all for granted.

Not everything in Amissville is harmless, however. It’s hard to believe, but the RAWL (Rappahannock Animal Welfare League) shelter was broken into recently. The break-in occurred on the afternoon of September 20: The thieves took two dogs with them. You have to wonder what would motivate someone to steal dogs from a shelter. After all, you can walk in and adopt dogs and take them home without going to all the trouble of breaking and entering. I’m
