Ki Theatre presents its 10th annual evening of life stories on October 28 at 8 p. m. Told by our Rappahannock friends and neighbors and transformed for the stage. Nol Putnam relates the saga of his great commodore grandfather; Saundra Richardson narrates the tale of Awetash, a brave Eritrean/ Ethiopian woman; and Cliff Miller touches our hearts with two stories about three of his farm horses. Oct. 29: Country Day
School Open House
The public is invited to a special Open House on Sunday, October 29th, from 1 p. m. to 3 p. m. at Wakefield Country Day School, a preschool through twelfth grade college preparatory day school located at 1059 Zachary Taylor Highway in Flint Hill. Come take a tour of the school and meet some of the faculty, staff, parents, and students who make up the Wakefield community. WCDS emphasizes scholarship in the classical tradition, and its stated mission is to develop each student’s character and intellect to its fullest potential. Oct. 29: Grace Church Concerts
The new series at Grace Church in The Plains opens this year on Oct. 29 with an appearance by the American Boy Choir. The only non-sectarian residential boy choir school in the nation sends a group of singers renowned world wide. The choir, composed of boys in the 5th through 8th grades, will offer gospel and spiritual songs. All Grace Church concerts are at 5 p.m. Sundays and are followed by a reception. Oct. 29: OCH Team Event
The annual Orange County Hunt Cross Country Team Event will be held Sunday, October 29 at Old Whrtewood Farm near The Plains, with the popular Junior Hunter Championship, which drew 30 entries last year. The OCH Team Chase features teams of. three to four horses or ponies galloping over a rolling course of walls, coops, rails and hay bales in two main divisions: Limit Hunters and Genuine Hunters. Team prizes are awarded for ideal time, best turned out, best hunt team and best family/farm team. A Genuine Hunter championship also is awarded. Call 540-253-5356 for prize lists.
