tions of fats, oils, and grease. “One of your primary contributors to your wastewater system is the Inn,” Clark said. “When you have food prep one of your main waste products is fats, oils and greases.”
Clark also gave council members conceptual drawings of the wastewater system. The conceptual drawing showed a sketch of the plant near U. S. 211 screened with trees and a large wooden fence.
“We will be working with the architectural review board and realize that we are working in a very sensitive area,” said Clark, “We are going to do what we can to make sure that this structure blends in with the aesthetics of the town.”
Town Attorney John Bennett asked Clark about the necessary easements and permits from properly owners and the Virginia Department of Transportation for the burial of system pipes required for the project. “It would be good to get a head start on this,” he said.
Clark responded that engineers would be working on grade line measurements which would give them a better understanding of where the pipes will go and how the structure will fit into place.
“This is just a preliminary design to give you a flavor,” Clark said. “We will continue to change and update the design as we work with the DEQ and the Health Department.”
