McCarthy said money generated by the ordinance will go into the county’s general fund. After a year or so, once county leaders see how much money it brings in, officials will decide how to parcel out the funds to law enforcement and fire and rescue squads. No one has made a reliable estimate for how often restitution will be imposed, McCarthy said. Luke said he has not yet heard of any infractions in which the ordinance will be applied.
